Hood heat vents, false into functional on 2500

I'm not sure why the put on false heat vents, but it would be nice if there was a way to make them functional, and look better. Has anyone seen it done? Might be easier to just get a new hood....once they come out.

I agree with ya. The vents should have been functional, or at least, "dressed up" a bit with some trim or something.

Some hoods can be made functional with a little modification. I've never been a fan of the non-functional hoods. If you're gonna spend all that money on a hoof, it should at least function. I don't know, that's just me.

The 2500 and 3500 hoods are stamped that way to stiffen them up. The original hood without the stamps would flex while driving down the road. The stamping stiffened them up.

I think that you could make them functional somehow. I would not doubt it if someone started to make a kit that inserts some sort of plastic to insert after you cut the holes out.

I think that would look really good as well as let a lot of the heat out of the engine compartment

Yall brought up some good points. But I guess I'll spend the money on a Ranch Hand front end replacement instead. then fender flares. tires. Then a limited slip for the front end. toolbox. window tint. once all that crap is paid off, a fishing boat....

Now that's what I call a list!

Hehe, never a bad thing to change one's mind... that'll be a good lookin' truck when you get it done.
