How To Change Seats!!??
i have a 2005 4.7 plain jane. the cloth seats are WAY too long to accomadate my stubby thighs. they dig in right behind my knee joint. from reading other posts - seats are a common issue on this forum. i have decided to replace my seats with another brand that will fit my body (sounds kinky). does anybody have experience with putting other truck seats into their ram? i suppose you will have to swap the slide frame but can't imagine that is a show stopper. i am looking for guidance to certain types or brands and how much and what type of work it is to do this. thanks for any assistance, folks! john in iowa-----
Pretty easy. One thing to consider is whether or not you have electric seats. If so, make sure you get a set that is compatible with the plugs to the motors.
If not, unbolt and bolt in your replacements with the provided slide frame.
I haven't seen too many aftermarket seats offered for the Ram. Obviously, some brands come to mind such as Recaro. But, why not modify the stock seats? A good upholstery shop should be able to custom carve the foam without modding the covers and that will be a LOT cheaper than replacing the seats.
