1,000 Mile Trip Averaged 19.2 and 17.8 mpg

I just finished a 1,000 mile trip with about 1,100 pounds total passengers/cargo weight. I averaged 19.2 mpg for the first 600 miles, then 17.8 for the next 400 miles after I turned on the AC. Not bad at all. I have a 2010 1500 Hemi 4x4 with 3.92's. Also I didn't get an ass or a back ache and I drove 13 hours the first day.

Great numbers  and even better that you got none of the fun-numb as I call it after driving that long.

Was the trip mainly freeway and what sort of speeds did you average? If I remember correctly when we drove up from Mendocino to Seattle with the truck was loaded down with tools etc plenty of weight, through the hills and up I 5 drove around Portland spending money recklessly to save WA taxes. On the freeway stayed just under 70 got around 17 mpg. Now, Driving around town in Seattle get somewhere between 11 & 12 that's with the MDS in and out like a Yoyo.

I certainly won't, but there seems to be quite a variation on mpg got by folks on this forum I know the right foot has a lot with MPG as well as the axel but I am not sure if that is everything on the 2009 & 10s ???

Not bad numbers at all! What kind of speeds were you traveling at?

I've had a HEMI for over 5 years. The mpg varies greatly depending on driving types. If you are driving around town or commuting in a metro area the mpg SUCKS (12-14). If you can get out on a highway and keep it under 70 you can approach 19. Push it into the mid 70s and you're back to 14. It is the continual slow/go acceleration that kills mpg.

The trip was all freeway, mostly 65-73 mph with the occasional traffic slow down and road construction. This was I95 between NJ and FL, fairly flat road but lots of up and down small hills from VA through SC. Temps 65 to 85.

Uktitus what did you get hauling up Mt. Shasta about 8mpg? lol I have driven the I5 between Portland and Sacramento a few times.
