Reverse lights not working

I have an 84 Dodge Ram d150 318 v8 manual transmission. The reverse lights do not work, but every other light does(brake, tail lights, head lights, turn signals, parking lights and high beams) any common problems and possible solutions? thanks

Backup light switch, bad bulb ground, blown fuse, blown bulbs or a wiring problem. I'd start by checking the switch if the fuse is good.

Hey guys, im gonna piggy back off this instead of sarting a whole new thread since i have a similar problem. I have a 89 Ram 50, my fuse for my reverse lights keeps blowing! all my other lights work, with the exception of my dome lamp. Any ideas, i dont know electrical systems at all other than the main fuse box. Thanks.

You need to put a meter to the wiring for that circuit. There's a short someplace.

Dang, thats what i was hoping it wasnt... lol

**EDIT: I put my test light to the fuse box, the fuse is getting power, but it blows the fuse as soon as i put the tranny in reverse. it calls for a 15 fuse i tried a 10, 15, 20, and 30, blew them all. I checked the bulbs, and the bulbs appear to still be good. I checked the wires under the truck, they look good as far as i can tell, nothing unplugged, or torn. There is however a mysterious green wire that runs from the left tail light to the right one. Its definetly not factory as it is outside the factory spiral wrap. The other lights work fine, parking, brake, and blinkers.
