need 08 tail lights

I think I finally found the tail lights that best match the theme of my truck! http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-5006790..._2106_15561109
But these are listed to fit 02-05 and I have an 08 Ram. Since my front end is completely upgraded, those stock tail lights just seem too how should I say "STOCK" for it. They are the closest design match I can find to the headlights I already have. http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-5006790...2105_234004848

My question is what would be involved in getting these tail lights to work. If its just simple rewiring or swapping out mounting pins it would be well worth it to me. But if there are any fit or body alignment issues I dont want to go down that road. Would I need longer mounting screws?

I'm just looking for advice from anyone with any info at all. Im trying to prevent getting my hopes up only to have to return them later if they dont work.

Mounts are the same, wiring harness is different; you'd have to split the stock harness into break and turn signal and wire them into an '02/05 harness to make those work.

The difference is the amount of bulbs that are in the tails you have and the ones you want. The earlier year 3rd gens have the 3 bulbs rather than the 2 that the newer ones have. For these to work you would need to get a wiring harness for them to work.

Do you want to keep the style of them and not get the flat style tails? They make tons of the smooth style tails which makes it easier to choose the ones that you like.

Another idea would be to paint the tails you have now. You can put some LED bulbs in your tails now and paint them black, this would give a custom look. I see you are looking at black tails so I thought I would make a suggestion

Thanks for the input guys! I'm a bit of a perfectionist so spending hours customizing my stock lights and not being completely satisfied isnt worth it when new lights are only around $100/pr. If its only rewiring then I will definately get them in time. But now I have a new problem, I found a 2nd pair of lights and cant decide which would better match my overall theme. I'm trying to go for a clean yet dark, customized look. Given the headlights I have, what would be your preference of these 2...

I just looked at an old thread of yours with pics of your truck, between those two, I'd say the 2nd set

Here's the link for everyone else:

Thanks for your opinion, I'm also leaning toward option 2. Option 1 would probably look better with the factory 3rd brake light and dont know if I can find aftermarket one to match option 2. So still not sure, decisions decisions..... Its a vicious cycle, doing one thing leads to another and another, never seems to be quite complete. Its almost like my truck is begging me to give it more style!

I finally broke down and ordered option #2. They should be here by the end of the week so I can install them next weekend. Once they're in I'll do a quick install write up with any difficulties or suggestions for anyone else who is interested. I think it'll look a little odd until I can find and afford a similar style 3rd brake light but like most people say here "the mods are never done!" Yes, there will be pics once they are in , no worries!
