3500 dually

Hi all, new here. Trying to find out some things. I'm looking at a 05 ram 3500. 54000 miles. I pull a 30ft gn trailer all the time hauling freight. Will this truck be ok? I see where the trannys where a problem.

Doesn't sound too bad, what condition is it in? A couple of my drivers have 3500's and haul oilfield freight with 40' floats with no problems, but what else do you know about the truck? BTW, I see you're new here, so welcome to the forum! Be sure to introduce yourself in the Newbie Checkin and get your official Ram Z welcome! :)

what engine/hitch does it have and how much does the trailer weigh, hello and welcome

Its at a dealer in FL. It has a 5.9 in it.

I'm not to worried about the engine. Was wondering about the trannys in these trucks at this year (2005)

I believe the transmission problems come from tuned motors with over 400 RWHP. It's so easy to get huge power from the 5.9. As long as you don't go much over a 100 hp tune, you'll be fine. If it has the 6sp manual, those are bullet proof, too much hp, the clutch will slip. She will tow that trailer like a dream.

I think you'll be good as long as you aren't towing above the limit all the time and don't pump up the HP too much.

At 54K, it's just getting broke in!
