trouble code p0500 on a 2000 ram 1500 sport

Hello all
I have a 2000 ram 1500 sport the has the ABS, check eng and the e-break light's on. The eng code is a p0500 but the guy at auto zone says that my truck is NA for that sensor. I rebuilt the rear end about 6 mounths ago and remember seeing a sensor on the rear end. is that it or what else could it be.

Thanks for your help
Todd

P0500 is a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) error. Loss of ABS function is a possible symptom, which would light the ABS light. Not sure where the sensor(s) located, but the rear axle is a typical location...so is the trans.
Did you check the wiring to the rear end sensor?
Did you change your tire size recently? This can cause this error when the PCM is not calibrated to your tire size and gets conflicting information from it's sensors.
