Header Torque

Has anybody found a way to properly torque all the header bolts on the Gibson log style headers? The part number is GP311S-C. I can't get a socket over the bolt heads because of how the header curves out over them. Any tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

you might have to use box end wrench's..sockets might be too deep/tall...

Yup, either box wrenches or use a swivelhead adapter for socket (might be able to get a few this way). Alot of times, the back header bolts do require a box wrench (this is where a ratcheting box wrench can come in handy).

i have a diy on headers

is it for his specific headers Mike? that's what he's asking for, what works for pacesetters will not always work for Gibson logs...best way to do them is with the front wheels and wheel liners off, then you can get directly at the headers..

no i know i just saying there a diy i made and a video i put up and how to do it. also you can use the swivel extender and wrap it with tape

Yeah, a short swivel should work along with a short socket.

Good luck!
