68RFE Six Speed Fluid Capacity

I have a 2008 2500 QC CTD 4X4 with the six speed auto and will be needing to change the fluid/filters in my transmission soon. Anyone can tell me how many quarts it will take? Not doing the torque converter, just the transmission. Thanks

Depends on which transmission you have.

68RFE (2WD) - 5.5 quarts

68RFE (4WD) - 6.5 quarts

AS68RC - 7.5 quarts

Transmission Capacity

Thanks Randy. I have the 4X4 with auto. Second CTD. First 85K and it never missed a lick. This one...........................trying to decide still as I've had one DPF and EGR replaced, one egr cleaned (supposedly). About 12 codes thrown and next time will be a turbo replaced. With the brake on (always) that thing bucks, jumps etc all over the place. Coming up on 30K and milage sucks. Never got really good on the 5.9 either. Charlie

Do you tow/haul much with this truck?
