I am looking to purchase a horse trailer and I am wondering what my truck can handle. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab 4.7L V8
Can anyone tell me what the towing capacity is for this truck?
All the RV sites have trailer towing capacitys on them, easy to check to see what your truck can tow. Things you need to know are Transmission, Rear end ratio, and tire size. Just a note if your vehicle is a 4X4, they usually tow about 250 to 400 lbs less than a regular 2 wheel drive. Also long boxes tow a little less weight as well. Make sure your horse trailer has the ability to hook up an equalizer hitch this will help emensly with level towing and sway.
