Mopar DVD headrests

I bought mopar dvd headrests, and the dealer is installing them this thursday, just wondering if anyone has had them installed. I did a search and found that there is a wire that hangs beside the main unit that you have to plug into the aux. port when you want to watch a dvd from the main unit. Just wondering if this is true

first of all i dont think you can watch a dvd in your head unit when the truck is in motion unless you buy the bypass thingy, whatever its called. second that wire is only used when you want to hear what the headrest are playing through your vehicles speakers. i always keep mine plugged in, it does look nasty if you just have it hanging. but you can always have it plugged in and when you want to use it select the aux button, not that noticable compared to what you were thinking. hope i was help.

so i guess technically i don't even have to run the wire up to the main dash unit. just put dvd in the headrest unit and listen to it on headphones, or via fm radio station is this correct

Laramie382 how did the color of the new headrests match up, i have a sport with the stitching, i was just wondering if everything still looks good

I bought the same kit and the headrests didn't match. I have the Larmie gray leather seats and the dodge headrests were too dark with black stitching. I ended up buying a set from these guys. http://www.headrestvideo.com/vsheadrests/dodge/ram.html Perfect match. I was also pissed with the plug in jack from Dodge. I bought a lockpick which allows the audio to be plugged into the back as it should be.

sure is, not sure about the fm station. if that was the case i wouldnt have that wire. but they do have something for that as well. the transmitter to do it through the radio station. hope you get what you want. i really dont mind that wire, no one notices, neither do i

Installed the lockpick last night and all I can say is wow. This is such a cool product. Simple to install and it unlocks all the features of the radio. I'm now able to use my new backup camera, play DVDs from the front and watch them on the back. Play movies from the back and watch them on the front. And the best is that I can input NAV addresses while moving.
