folding tow mirrors..car wash

Ok, anther dumb topic on my part but thought I would throw it out there!!

I have the larger tow mirrors on my ram. I drove it into local automatic car wash (petro can) here in Ajax, Ont. with mirrors folded in.....the damn side brushes in car wash forced mirrors back out and fully extended. Fortunately no damage but I was s###ting bricks as the truck moved thru car wash with mirrors out.

What a pain in the a##. Never had this happen on any of my other trucks with tow mirrors.

I know, I know don't trust an auto car wash....

My preferrence is to hand wash in better weather but in winter...gotta find a spray wash only place..

Same thing happened to me with my stock mirrors

I just leave mine out. They lock in place so it's harder to move them.

I go to a brushless carwash so no smacking the mirrors anymore.

Rule #1, never take truck to car wash that has brushes or spinning things.
Rule #2, see rule #1. :D

More hazardous than the mirrors is the chemicals they put in those things. It can actually etch into your factory tint and windows, esp on the newer chevy back windows so be careful with the automatic car washes!

Yeah, auto washes are evil. I will always use the wand wash so I know it's getting done right.
