Why does it do this???

My a/c when driving gets cold like it should but while sitting at a light or just at an idle it blows out warm air. I recharged my a/c thinking that would help but it didnt... Any suggestions???

After you get it cool in your truck put the recirculate on and not the outside air.

i already run it in recirculate that is why im so cunfused and the clutch on the compressor works just fine

Is your condensor fan working ?

strang3majik 09-03-2010 11:44 PM

the newer ones have separate fans?

sobercrew 09-04-2010 01:01 AM

everything seems to be in working order i dunno maybe a system flush is in order???

High humidity + high ambient temps + no air moving across the vehicle will have this affect.

Also, the inlet to the system needs to be kept free of debris. Check the cowl area and vacuum it out.

thanks for that i never thought of that vacume cleaner here i come

my truck is doing same thing. while running down road it cools fine. If idle the clutch is pulling in and out, i guess short cycling. and thus compressor is not running long enough to cool. so im sure its an airflow problem but not quite sure what exactly it is. i dont remember seeing a seperate condensor fan. ill have to check again. its been a few weeks since i looked at it. Hey Sobercrew any luck with the vaccum? Any help is greatly appreciated guys and gals

So be crew the answer i think is in another thread here labled ac proble about three pages, there saying condensor fan motor, and that would explain why we get cooling while going down the road
