HI ALL, Got some questions for ya
Hey guys new here to this site. So I just paid off my 2001 Ram 1500 quad cab 5.9L 4x4. It has the sport and off road package. Questions are this and sorry if they have been asked before I have been searching this site and seeing multiple answers for the same thing. First off does the sport and/or offroad package come with a lift? My buddy went under my truck and said there was no lift on it, I am running 33x12.50's with still plenty of room I am confident with a leveling kit I could easily slap 35's. However I am looking for a 4-6" lift to put in my truck and they all say will not fit the off-road package? Can someone tell me what is different with this package? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the forum.

I do not know if the Sport package came with a lift. It seemed to me that the Sport trucks were a bit more level than the SLT models of that vintage. If your buddy sees no lift, maybe they used a bit taller spring perch when they built them.

Have you asked the lift kit manufacturers why their kits don't fit the off road package? I don't know why not unless that package has something different about it.

I have a Sport w/Off Road . No they do not have a lift on them . The rear does have blocks in there from the factory . I put a 2" Daystar leveling block in mine . I am running 35's with a little rub on hard turns . But be it known , I have also experienced the "Death Wobble".

Welcome to the Z.

We have a lot of forums for all kinds of topics, so you shouldn't have any problems finding a place to post questions.

We LOVE pics of Rams.

Here's how to post them:

Welcome to the Z! If you throw a 2" leveling kit on, you should be clearing 35s easy. You can install an upgraded steering stabilizer to help with the wobble. If you want to do a full lift rather than a level you should be fine; as far as I know, the sport edition was the only one that had a different stance that came with a slightly leveled front end.
