Cooler weather = better MPG?

Ok, for those of you that have gotten a break from the 105* plus weather, has anyone noticed better gas mileage since the weather has become more seasonable? Over the past 4 weeks my average mpg (going by both the overhead and calculations from gasbuddy.com) have gone up by an astounding amount. The overhead has gone from 13.1 to 16.3 as of this afternoon. gasbuddy.com has shown increase from 13.53 to 15.9. I was a little depressed when I installed the Volant CAI back in May but around that time is when the 100+* weather started coming in. My driving habits have not changed, maybe fine tuned, but not changed. It makes since that we would all be getting better fuel economy with cooler air for our engines to breath, but I didn't expect it to be over 1.5mpg. Now I'm really looking forward to puting those headers on!

Cooler - read denser - air will improve fuel efficiency.

And I don't know anyone who won't appreciate that, especially coupled with gas prices going down, at least here anyway. :)

Yesterday & Today have been cooler here in Texas as well. I def. noticed a difference in MPG on the highway last night. On a hot summer day I'll get about 20 mpg on the highway I take home, but last night it was up to 22!!! I'll see how consistant that is over time, as this is the 1st season change I'll see with my RAM!

Yup, cooler air is better... up to a point when the ambient temperature starts killing fuel economy due to start up/warm up.

took a drive to Chicago last week, about a 90 mile trip from my home. 1st time in a long time without AC. Over head read 18.9 mi. per gal. A couple weeks before that same trip I avg. about 15- 16 mi. per gal. May be taking my 07 Ram down to Alabama in Oct. hope gas prices don't get any higher!!!!!1
