Cheap Product/Accessory Alert!

I got to thinking that we could use a thread to forewarn others about poor quality parts and accessories we find for the Ram. I'll lead off with one I encountered today.

Aries step rails. I was given an '09 Ram to work on today and when I stepped on the rail to get in, I nearly fell off as if flexed downward over an inch! Once I got the truck on my lift, I discovered why - poor quality and insufficient number of mounting brackets. They look good but if you want a functional step rail, avoid these.

Good idea, Randy.

Agreed, I used to work an accessory shop for almost two years and we sometimes used aries bars, very cheap thing metal and only two mounting points.

Agreed! I think we could add the 'magic-chips' and 'electric supercharger' to that thread as well.

This is a great idea for a thread! I agree with you Cdnoil, those magic chips should be the headline of what not to buy!!

Great idea! Also if there is something out there that is really good we should give a shout.
