front brakes...what are my options?

I have come to the conclusion I need bigger brakes...badly.

I stopped 3 times yesterday within about 2 minutes....once from 75, the next from 60, then the next from 40...and they were rather quick stops, but, still.

When I stopped (I was in front of my house the last time), the brakes were smoking. Literally smoke bellowing from behind the wheels, and the brake fade on that last stop was horrible.

My thing is, while pads may help it stop better, they're not going to solve the heat problem, so, my question is...what are my options for upgrading to larger front brakes? These just aren't cutting it.

The Conquest I had, I did a few stops from 80, and a few stops from everywhere beneath, and they never faded nor smoked, and they were just duralast pads. So...I do have a feeling its an undersized brake issue.

I shoulda grabbed a picture...it looked kinda cool...lol

But, what are my options?

Have you checked the rear brakes to make sure they're adjusted correctly and not throwing an additional load on the front?

Maybe some frozen wheel cylinders . Consider putting rear disc brakes on .

Rear brakes are completley brand new, new pads, new wheel cylinders, turned drums (or whatever they do to them).

But, they've worked great, but, the fade is horrible. And, I bet if it was night time they would've been glowing...lol

And, they work great the first stop...its just high performance braking (good name, right :p ) it doesn't like it multiple times in sucession.

But, is there any bigger front discs that will swap right on? Or at least any aftermarket kits that are made for the ram?
