Wheel flare pics?

Hey does anyone have a pic or 2 of their Ram with flares? I'm thinking of getting Bushwacker OE style flares for my 2010 Sport. The OE ones have a texture. While they are paintable I'd rather paint smooth ones. I've installed Bushwacker's products on customer's vehicle and the quality is great IMO. Thoughts?

I have bushwhacker extend-a-fender flares that are painted.

Wow they look great. I was thinking of the OE style because they are smaller but the Extend a fender ones look great on your truck. Do you think they stick out too far with the stock tires?

In my honest opinion the fender flares will look best if you have bigger tires and offset. When the flares stick out way further than the tires I think it looks un finished. If you like the look of flares on the truck then who am I to say not to do it haa. It is your truck buddy so if you like it do it. If you go with the OE style you will be fine since it is only 1/2" out. If you go bigger than that then my comment before makes sense haha.

I have the pocket style flares on my truck (2007) and I love them. Bushwacker definitely makes the best quality flares. They all come ready for paint if you want to do that.

Nope, just right. Keeps a lot of stuff off the fenders. The stock tires are just a bit wider than the stock fender.

Here's a shot before a bath. Used to have crap all over the fender.

Like I said it was what I thought. I agree with you that it has very good functionality and keep the truck much cleaner. I am going off of what I have seen on my friends 09 Ram. He has the extend a flares on his truck and it seems like it is too much. (I think he has the extend a flare, but it looked like it was more than 1 3/4 of coverage). It may also been because his truck was red and the flares were black, they may ust have stood out due to contrast. That is just my opinion and I am not bashing the looks of anyones truck. I am just stating what I think not saying your truck looks bad.

Everyone has an opinion and not everyone agrees. I know that and thats why I always say in my opinion haha. I hope you dont take offense to what I say at any time but I just like to state my opinion. I think your truck looks great Root Beer by the way!

Scat,

My post was not in response to yours. :D I was looking for a pic to upload while you made your post. :D

I chose the flares because of how far they stick out. They are a functional thing for me. I hate having my paint scratched or otherwise messed up by tire spit.

ScatPak07 10-03-2010 08:45 PM

hahahah oh alright! Well alright then I guess we have an understanding haha. I bought mine for that as well. I hate having all the crap off the road flying up and scrathing the paint. I still have that problem though, even with the biggest flares they have haha.

RootBeer 10-03-2010 08:47 PM

That's because of those extra wide tires your have.

rtkman 10-03-2010 08:59 PM

That's exactly the problem I have Rootbeer. I hate the tires spitting crap all over my nice clean truck. I don't want huge flares with my stock tires though. Your truck looks great though.
