what tranny?

i have a 02 2500 with an automatic with 80,000 mi fluid looks good not burnt would like to know what trans it is and what maintance should i do to keep it working well and would lucas treatment be a good idea?

You should have the 47RE transmission. I'm not sure what the fluid change interval is on your truck but I know it's not more than 100k. As for additives, Chrysler doesn't recommend any type of additive to ATF+4.

if I am correct.? isnt a 47re a Cummins Turbo Diesel transmission?

I'm still wondering if it's 4x2 or 4x4, but then again they only came with one trans.

No. 47Re is a Dodge transmission.

It IS the trans used behind the 5.9 I6 and 8.0v10

HemiLonestar 03-22-2012 01:46 AM

Is it a 47RE or the 48RE?

Sledpuller 10-09-2013 05:28 AM

48re was only in 3rd gen trucks.
