What do you run for a computer?
Figured this would be a good thread starter for this forum :D I was actually thinking about posting this elsewhere.

What does everyone have for a computer? Anyone into computers really? SPEED is a sickness, and it seems everything in my life must be modified to be happy :D

I have the following:
Gigabyte P55-USB3
Intel i5 750 @ 4.0ghz 1.28v
4gb Corsair 1600mhz c8
Asus 5850 w/ thermalright HR03 @ 986 core / 1181 mem 1.25v
Antec 300 case w/ Corsair TX650
Corsair H50
OCZ Vertex 120gb, WD Black 640gb, WD Black 1tb

Sure some of this will be foreign to many people, but theres gotta be someone into computers around here :D

I myself am too poor to build the computer I want. I am taking a computer systems and networking class at school and tomorrow I have to take a whole computer apart and put it back together. Computers will probably have something to do with my career. I don't really know yet.

Intel E8400 3Ghz @ 4.2Ghz
4GB Mushkin Redline PC8000
2 x eVGA 8800GT 512mb
WD Black dual processor 640GB drive (main), Seagate barracuda 500gb (backup)
Corsair Tx650 watt
Coolermaster CM690 case
CPU Cooling: Xigmatek HDT-S1283

Going to upgrade next summer, served me well for the last few years so far.

I have like 5 computers in the home plus 2 laptops.... 1 laptop, this one, is about to be chucked into the recycle bin. anyhoo the last one i purchased for the wife was:

Alienware Area 51
intel i7 2.8 Quadcore overclocked to 3.2
16gig 1600mhz
300gig HDD 10,000 rpm
forgot the vid card, its a dual 1gig.

I suggest building your own next time, its not too hard and much cheaper then buying an alienware.

Damn, you all are computer crazy
i'll just say that i have at least 3 desktops & 2 store bought laptops
all were top of the line components when they were assembled,
the desktops all have 2 hard drives & a bunch of redundant sound systems, tape drive, 5" floppy drive, 3 1/2 disk drives, cd writers & players & most of the machines are out dated
like the win 98, win 98 2nd edition, ME laptop, XP Pro, & this Vista laptop
i just gave away a truck load of parts, including a WYSIWYG card from my first computer & a about a pound of the old SUN systems memory sticks

Ive been out of the computer loop for a couple of years now, this gaming rig doesnt even have a single game on it anymore. Hard drive failed, loaded now with windows 7 and havent gotten around to putting any games in yet. Been very busy with work and focusing on my new truck

built my own with all the bells and whistle just under $2000 with 3 HD 24'' monitors.

Specs Blackzilla.... :D

Anyone on any of the overclocking forums? Im on OCF, HF, and XF although primarily on OCF.

Wife gave me the go ahead for a 2nd computer so Im trying to wait for the new 6 series AMD gpu and the new 32nm process Intels (hopefully a reasonable 6 core).
