Installing a Bug Deflector

I got a great deal on a chrome bug deflector Part # 82211336 ac....My only concern is it slides over the edge of the hood. I have a feeling in the long run its going to rub the paint off....Any suggestions? Did anyone install one and how did it work for you?

Yup, go to the hardware store and buy some stick foam weather stripping. Put it on the hood edge.

OK thanks....Will the foam insulation also cause issues from it obsorbing moisture and keeping wet against the paint?

another option is to get some vinyl used in making car graphics etc.. and run a strip of that along where it meets the paint.

i run a small strip around the outside of the rails where my toneau drops over just in case it rubs. does a fine job
