Local Driving MPG
Most of my driving is local at 35mph with an occasional 20 or so mile jaunt down the highway at 65.

I just filled up and average mpg on the EVIC 16.1 and manual was 15.99.

In my estimation that's not to bad for a full size 4x4. Its a whole lot better than my 04 Ram 4x4 with the 4.7 got which was usually around 13 - 14.

Had a guy approach me at the gas pump asking about my mpg and he was impressed when I told him.

I like my Hemi. :D

That is very decent for a 4x4. I have the 2wd Sport Hemi and drive in similar situations, depending on my driving style I have averaged from 15.8 to 16.5 so far.

rtkman 10-23-2010 07:10 PM

I'm not sure if it gets better. Maybe we'll just get used to it in time :)

saunders1986 10-23-2010 10:11 PM

so far in 3 days i have burned through 90$ worth of gas.... and really havent went that far ....kept my foot light on the pedal as well .... what do octane u guys run, 87 89 or 91 or 93.... ive been using 91...

Ya man the new Rams have such better fuel management then the later years. I get an average between city and highway of around 12-13 MPG. Now this is with 35" tires and a 6" lift though. Before the lift I was getting better MPGs. The Hemi is a great motor especially with the VVT the new ones have.

The best I can do around town is 13 and thats light on the pedal. I get 19.5 on a 70 mile commute.
