HEATER/AC Blowing out wrong vents
I have an issue with the heater blowing just out of the floor vents. It doesn't matter where i put the control (defrost, dash vents, any) it is coming out of the floor vents. But if i put it on defrost, floor almost all is coming out of the floor and you can slightly feel air coming out of the defrost and the same with the rest of the positions. but mostly comes out on the floor. Does anyone have an idea what my problem could be?? Thanks

I don't think the recall affects your 2000 Ram. But it does sound like you've got a blend door or vacuum problem.

what is a blend door? is it something i can fix? i also noticed when i turn the switch to whatever location it make a slight popping sound

There is a door inside the blower box under/behind the dash that is usually controlled by a vacuum operated solenoid.

Your problems could be at the solenoid, the vacuum line, or the door itself. Could even be the linkage connecting the solenoid to the door.

The switch making noise is not good, but you need to pull the housing with the switch in it off to see what's wrong there.

Either way, if you do not have the skills to dig into the dash and blower, I highly recommend taking it to a professional.

on the blend door, there is usually a piece of plastic that holds the blend doors controller that breaks off, making that control knob pretty much useless. there are some youtube videos that a guy made of different problems with Dodge products videos, first one is below, parts 2 & 3 also cover the subject

I use IE to view YouTube videos, because it brings up related videos too
Mozilla Firefox does not seem to bring up the related videos, but, i may be doing something wrong

i was tinkering around and i noticed an arm thing moving when i changed position then did it later and it didn't move but it was still blowing out the floor
