Value of 97 SS/T

1 Attachment(s)
I acquired a 1997 Ram SS/T white with blue stripes. It has 173000 miles on it. I'm a contractor and was thinking about using it for a truck to run around in, that way I could leave primary truck on job. I have changed my mind, and now am thinking about selling it to get something smaller. Truck does need tires, little rust on passenger door and fender, small dent on passenger side in front of rear wheel. Interior is in very good shape. Needs a vacuum line replaced.
What can I realistically expect to get out of this truck?

Thanks,

Mark

I'll give ya two fiddy. :D:D:D

Just kidding, are you wanting to list it for sale here or just getting a value? We have a few rules about selling things on the forum.

I was thinking about listing it in the for sale forum. Just trying to get some realistic ideas about the value. I have been trying to sell it locally on craigslist, but it is tough since most people don't really know what it is. They want to compare it with every similar truck they see. I know it isn't made of gold, but it isn't quite the same thing as a ford with a 6 cylinder for $2000, either. That seems to be a lot of the mindset I'm running into. I'm just trying to get an idea if what I'm asking is realistic, I guess.

Unfortunately they aren't recognized as rare. I'd say $2500 for that one.

$2500 has been what I have been thinking. I'm a contractor, and I took the truck as partial payment on a job that I did. I actually knocked a little more off than I should have, but I'm not too worried about that. I just don't want to take too bad of a beating. I had been looking for a spare truck just to haul a set of ladders and use to go look at jobs. I have my other truck loaded down with equipment and don't like driving it if I don't have to. I really like the truck, and it is fun to drive. I thought the short bed wouldn't be a big deal, but a long bed really would be helpful. If it had an 8' bed, I really wouldn't want to part with it. I guess I will just have to be patient on Craigslist. Thanks for the info.

To be honest i would only pay $2000 for it.

It seems like prices on trucks are really high in my area. I have been looking for almost a year now, trying to find a good deal on an full size extended cab or a smaller truck. Not much out there right now. Of course, asking price and selling price are 2 different things. One good thing about my truck is the fact that I know the previous owner, and he is good about maintaining his vehicles.

Ended up getting $2400. Lost some money, thats what I get for buying from a friend.

Trick out your truck a little bit to gain value on it!
