U-connect?

Looking to add u-connect to my truck. My model radio is the ress media center 130 cd/mp3 and according to the dodge dealership would cost around $450 to add it. My question is why??? A 36,000 dollar vehicle and you think it should have come with it. Is their a cheaper way and is it something I could do myself?

My truck has the RES radio with uconnect from the factory. I didn't think the ucconnect kit was that much. Try shopping around at mopar-wholesale.com or wholesalemopar.com and see what you find.

thats exactly what i paid installed to the same radio...kind of a joke they give you the stereo that has the capability but they hose you for the small unit to activate it.....i was told the dealer had to put it in because they have to flash the system to get it to work properly. You are paying the going rate. To be honest for me its a must have, the only mistake i made was not getting the ipod cable done at the same time, if you want to use the ipod through the stereo make sure you also order the ipod cable and have it all installed at the same time, a $100 mistake for me to have them install the cable and reflash.

Yeah I didn't think it would cost that much either but I got the same quote from 2 different dealerships. I'm going to have to just keep looking around.
Thanks

you can read the users manual on the site also

The cost is parts and labor. Lot of labor. They have to tear apart the dash and roof and run the wires up to the mirror and replace the mirror with the one that has the mic. Plus flash your radio.

As was previously mentioned, don't forget to have them run the iPod cable.

When I bought my Truck I made them throw in the uconnect in. But by the time I got it I had already installed my screen. So if anyone is looking for the bluetooth uconnect let me know.

what radio did you add? im looking at upgrading to the 430 that is now stock for sport trucks in 2011....best factory radio ive ever seen and wont give them an excuse to mess with my lifetime warranty if i have electrical problems......if you added this how much was it, im afraid to go to the dealer and get a quote for the radio installed.

I installed a aftermarket radio in my truck not a factory one. I put in a screen myself. Radio installers wanted like 500 bucks.
