Resonators and mufflers

So, what could you expect for increased performance if I were to remove the stock resonator all together and replace the stock muffler with..say a magnaflow? I would love to add headers and run the full dual exhaust front to back, but that's not going to happen for awhile.

I'd leave the resonators as they will attenuate drone, especially with an aftermarket muffler. Definitely go with a freer flowing muffler.

Would there be much of a restriction leaving the resonator on and pairing with a flow through muffler, I have the single exhaust on my truck. Just trying to free flow everything as best I can until I can run a true dual exhaust.

I have the factory duals with the aggressive sound (smaller resonators) and had a friend who does all my muffler work put a magnaflow on. I really wanted another Wicked Flow like was on my old truck but he said they went out of business. I can tell a small difference and performance. Not a whole lot, but every bit helps. I might be getting .2-.4 better MPG but the truck is new so those numbers could be skewed. It sounds great. At highway speeds and idle it's barely louder than stock but when you get the go pedal it comes alive. Definately can't go wrong with these HEMIs
