Not good especially this time of the year .

RootBeer 12-19-2010 06:58 PM

That just sucks. I hate to see that kind of thing happen to anyone.

House fires suck in general, but this close to christmas is always bad, even though all the decorations and lights just make it more likely.

The house not all gone. They are in the process of fixing the structure and then the roof. The inside is all gone due to: Smoke, Fire, Water, and Heat.

Very tough video to watch as I came very close to that Jan. 5 of this year, truly sorry to hear about your loss PorkChop :(. Got woke up to the house next door to me completely engulfed and I'm not 20 feet away, still gives me the creeps because, like Cody, that house is not completely gone. The basic structure still survives, but not much else and because it's in the historic district, it's a big heap of red tape to have it torn down. While, on the one hand, it's an eyesore, it is also a constant reminder of the importance of fire safety and how grateful I am to the quickness of the four fire departments that responded quickly and helped save my home. That fire was ruled arson as the house had been vacant for some time and all utilities, gas and electric, had been disconnected.

My daughter's house burned just before Christmas couple years ago, electrical short. Community support was amazing, her landlord- not so much.

Cody Daniels 12-22-2010 08:11 PM

Well yeah most of the structure remains in-tact. But the only reason I say total loss is because the fire happened in the attic and when they put it out it ruined everything the amount of water in the attic made the floor collapse.
