"Fuel Saver" vs. "ECO." What is the difference?

I feel like I have been spending half the day searching the forums for the answer to this...

In regards to the "Fuel Saver" light that I have in my 09 1500... Is it the same as an "ECO" light? I have never seen a light turn on in my truck that says "ECO". But, I see the "Fuel Saver" light all the time. Does anyone have a photo of what an "ECO" light looks like?

I guess my question is... When someone says "ECO light", are they referring to the "Fuel Saver" light, or are they two different lights?

Thanks for entertaining this Dodge newbie.

I think 09s say Fuel Saver and the 10-11s say Eco. Either way mine is the same as yours and to answer your question they are one in the same.

On my 11' in the EVIC is where the ECO word shows up at the top. Mine hardly ever comes on. Not sure why its even there.

It never comes on because your not driving in a fuel efficient manner.

Fuel Saver & ECO are the same thing, just a change in Terminology

it is just a make you feel good light, it is basically telling you that you are driving in a manner that is using the least amount of fuel possible

i have seen it come on going slow, as soon as the transmission has reached computer controlled 5th gear, i have seen it stay on all the way to a rolling Stop

ohhh, thats what that ECO light is on my ram, on an 06, on the headliner instrument, where you click thru the compas, the gas millage, the DTE, on one of them, i think its the gas milage, there is a green eco on in the corner, ive never noticed it to shut off thou, ill try it today

My eco light is almost always on (except upon acceleration of course). I can get it to stay on if I accelerate very slowly, but people behind me don't like that lol. The light is basically like a glorified vacuum gauge.

Excactly thats why i turned mine off!

yeah I don't know I never really thought of it as a nuisance at all though. It pretty much gets ignored.

I gotta say though they help in a Uhaul! lol. Big difference in mpg in Uhaul from 5-10 years ago when you just went, vs now with the vacuum gauges you can monitor your mpg somewhat.
