Leaf spring clamp

Does anyone here have leaf spring clamps? Where can I purchase them from? Pros or Cons to it?

Clamps? What are you trying to do?

a few years ago, i had an old 1956 1/2 ton Chevy, i took my springs to a spring & brake shop, i had them re-arc my leaf springs, so that they had the same arc to them as new & then i had a helper spring added to the spring package, they used all new leaf spring clamps when they put it all back together

If you have a spring shop in your area, you should go there & have them do it

if you just want the bolt together ones, you can get them at several online & local parts stores,

I'm trying to give my truck an extra lowering stance. I bought the rear 2" drop shackles but it still isn't level enough, so someone told me about some leaf spring clamps could help with a little lowering.

I think the idea here is that the clamps would compress the springs to allow the frame to sit closer to the axle. I have never heard of this but one thing I would think about is compressing your springs will make the ride stiff and potentially uncomfortable (more so than it already is). Also, it will reduce the weight you can put in the back even more than what you have already done with the lowering kit since you will have essentially taken away some of your suspension and thus, the ablity to stablize bed weight.

Have you considered modifying your spring shackles some more
or removing a leaf spring, IF you have multi leaf springs
you could possibly flip your springs & use longer shackles

I had them on my 05 Hemi QC. They helped out a bit to bring the rear down. They were about 40 bucks from autozone.

Now I understand. Most leaf springs ride on top of the axle. Why not remount them so they ride under the axle?

I have the Beltech 2" drop shackles and clamped the rears and it made it almost perfectly level. I found 3" universal shackles at Tractor Supply that I made my clamps out of. They have been on for almost a year and have worked great. I like the ride better with the clamps, and it helped with the traction out of the hole.
