Bad Rattling

I didn't know where else to post this, as I'm not sure where the problem is originating. Feel free to move this thread as you see fit.

In my '89 1/2 ton, I've got a very loud rattling/buzzing noise that seems to come from underneath the dashboard on the passenger's side. It tends to only do it when the weather is really cold, or at certain low RPMs. I think it started last winter when I changed the water pump and removed the smog pump. I'm thinking maybe I just accidentally left something loose in there, but none of that is anywhere near where the noise is originating. I'll try to put up a video of it later so you can know exactly what's happening.

This is driving me batty... and it's one reason why I drive my dually all the time. Lol Thanks in advance for all the great help I'm bound the receive. :smiley_thumbs_up:

This is a hard one to diagnose from afar. Might have to start taking things apart in order to look for it.

unfortunatley thats the only thing I could think as well. Hopefully you just messed up and left something stupid in there and nothings wrong good luck.

Crawl under the passenger side of the dash and wrap on things with your hand, nothing harder and see if you hear anything. Its a starting place. :D

Yeah, I guess I need to just tear it all apart as bad as I hate to. Lol I'm afraid it's somewhere in the HVAC unit...
