exhaust opinions please
I have a 2006 quad cab 5.7 hemi... now what is the best exhaust for performance and that throaty sound that I really don't wanna hear too much of unless my windows are down... I had a flowmater on my 1996 dodge and really loved it... since then I have been seeing Magna-Flow in staggering #'s... what are the differences in the two?? p.s. I do have the multiple displacement... does that affect anything??

Because I don't have a Hemi or MDS, I can't give you any first-hand knowledge... But I can give you some threads to look through:

The MDS does make a big difference in what you chose. A lot of the systems don't take it into account and you can end up with a nasty drone when it switches into 4cyl mode. Now, you can deactivate the MDS with a tuner and do what you want.

The flowmasters are traditionally louder than the Magnaflows, and the performance is about the same. If you're looking for a MDS friendly system then you're limited to the top end like corsa and borla, and they have a second resonator that attenuates the changed frequency. I personally have a borla dual rear out on my MDS 07 and have zero problems with drone

I can't say anything about my 2010, but I had magnaflow 18 on my 08 and the MDS did not bother me as much with a drone....little at all. On my 04, I had the AT3030, and I loved that one....but I didn't have the MDS on that of course

i would have to say magnaflow or flowmaster would be my choices

I just installed the Magnaflow 12288, 18" today. It is much louder than stock, growls, and has little to know drone. The 14" would be too loud I imagine. The 18" pushes the limit of reasonable vulgarity.
