The Best Cleaning Products

Just purchased a 2011 Ram 1500 Blue Quadcab, my first truck. I've always had used cars and never gave cleaning much thought. What do you all recommend as far as the best cleaning products (exterior) are concerned?

I'm confused by pre-cleaners, cleaners, wax, polish also. What order and procedures do you all follow? I know you got to clean before you wax, but anything else I should know?

grats on your purchase. good luck! cleaning is the same for a car, just takes longer. Your going to need a step ladder tho. and or a long handled brush. i bought the telescopic one from armor-all, first time and owned a truck for 20 years. so so results on the brush. also, off roading wise, you'll need to get under your truck and hose off the under carriage and wheel wells. grit will rub and cause rust. good luck again and enjoy.

I use alot of Meguiars products on my truck with great results. Everything fro wax, polish, quick detailing spray and tire shine. Everybody likes dfferent stuff, so you will have to do a little trial and error testing and see what works the best for you. Congrats on your new truck!

First of all congrats on the purchase on your new truck. If you want to keep the truck looking new always use good brand polishes, waxes and car washes on it. Try not to take it to a car wash but wash it by hand yourself. If your truck is kept outside all the time, the elements will start taking its toll on the exterior finish on it. Twice a year you should clay bar your truck to rid the paint of contaminants followed by a polish and then a couple of good coats of waxing. This wil keep your baby new looking.
Another thing what i do to keep my auto looking new when i go out or shopping I neverrrrr everrr park my car next to a car in the parking space. I will park out in left field and do a little walking so no one parks next to me. I learned over time people do not care about other peoples vehicles so when they open their door into it they dont care and now you have a new dent.
You spent alot of money on her so it will take a little work to keep her new for a long time to come.....wishing you all the best

Be sure to use car wash and not dish soap or else you'll strip your wax every time you wash it. When washing, use (2) buckets, one for soapy water and one to rise your mit before you put it back into the soap. I use my leaf blower to blow the emblems, mirrors, steps, grille and bumpers off when I dry it to help keep those annoying drips from happening. It keeps the dry towel from needing too many wrings as well.

Clay bar How To

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ling-clay.html

Be surprised even a brand new truck needs claying.

Me personally would NEVER let the dealer give me a pre-delivery DETAIL they offer or if you request it.
9/10 there giving you the DAS, dealer applied swirls,Not purposely.
