My newest modification

I was at my bank the other day & there was only one parking place within site, it was right in front of the building, there was several vehicles prowling for a parking spot.
The filled spaces right in that particular area had pickup trucks in them & the spaces are tight & short. So i decided to back into the empty spot, so that i could leave easily when i was done. The spot was also a Corner spot, so i would be able to climb out onto the landscaped area. Because of the prowling vehicles, i backed up without really checking the whole area, i just wanted to miss the truck on one side & not back into the building itself. i was backing slowly & waiting for the park sensors to go off, it never happened. there was a metal post filled with cement that i had not noticed & a very loud noise & a jarring sensation. OOPS

i used my fingernail to knock off the pretty yellow paint flakes, so it doesn't look all that bad. They heard the loud noise inside of the bank, i think it was all the tools in the bed that shifted around that made the noise

That sucks GT! Doesn't look like it's too bad, but ya gonna get those park sensors checked out?

ouch!!! that sucks, def would get them sensors checked out. at least it didnt push the bumper in and create more damage or ruin the sensors which would cost more money

Dalton 02-04-2011 06:24 PM

that sucks but they are right it could have been alot worse.

yamifz1 02-04-2011 06:27 PM

That really sucks but at least there is no large dent to add to the pain.

City Slicker 02-04-2011 08:25 PM

That sucks, GT. Sorry to hear about this.

iRESQu 02-04-2011 09:01 PM

I am so sorry Grizzly, that just plain and simply sucks!

UltraFlame 02-04-2011 09:34 PM

I knew something just didn't feel right today when I was backing up. Sorry that it was your truck. Hope you can get it fixed up like new. That is one of the reasons I have been thinking about a backup camera. Ouch, sorry to hear it.

I don't like your "newest mod", it looks out of place and takes away from the otherwise perfect bumper.

I was going to say something about backing up and a pole but I'm sure you wouldn't do that again.

Sorry to hear of the mishap

GTyankee 02-05-2011 03:13 AM

I took one of those 3M green pads that are used to rough clean out pots & pans
i wet it a bit & started rubbing, in 20 minutes most of the white paint came off, then it got too dark to see, tomorrow i'll see if i can get the rest off.
The bumper has a small nipple type dent, hardly noticeable, but the bumper shock absorbers did what they are suppose to do & collapsed, but, there is some scrape marks where the bumper make contact with the bed. the bumper looks like it did return to or almost to the original position
