Engine oil seal where power steering shaft attaches

I have a 97 Dodge Cummins 3500 First off I wanna be clear that I am correct... where the power steering pump mounts to the engine... does the engine oil lubricate power steering shaft? I have a huge oil leak coming from where the 2 connect and also was wondering if anyone has already done this and how hard it was. Any help is appreciated!

Only if you have a bad leak! Engine oil has nothing to do with the power steering.

I am also a TDR member ( Turbo Diesel Register ) this is what you need. I have used them before simple instructions with a dvd to and spare parts too. ( www.fixinrams.com )

I had this same problem in my 98 and the steering pump housing was cracked. Yes it is engine oil leaking out of there. I opted for a used part from a wrecker but you can get a new part and they aren't cheap. Also it isn't super easy to replace as it is in a tight spit but can be done

Thanks guys for the clear answers. My truck is a mess of oil with a leak coming out of there. A mechanic told me he did a gasket change for a customer before - same kind of issue. I hope that is all there is to it. I intend to take the pump out and do the gasket job. Hope the pump casing itself is not cracked. And that once the zone is cleaned there is no other leak under my truck. What a mess.
