Has anyone painted their chrome clad wheels

My 09' ram came with the 20" chrome clad wheels, was wondering if anyone has painted them and how they turned out. I've painted alloy wheels before but I'm not sure how to prep the plastic covers to make sure everything sticks.

Are they real chromed steel or just chromed plastic caps ?

a couple members painted them, but, the ones that i saw, they broke the plastic off, i was not impressed
better to go to a tire shop & see if you can swing some kind of a trade
those wheels that you have cost over $200 - 280 a piece

a good brand of wheel usually run $185 - 200, like MB wheels

I'm not interested in breaking the plastic off, I'll see if I can find a trade local. Just considering something cause the chrome just doesn't feel right to me on the Sport edition, same thing with the front grill. I like my gunmetal gray paint but I'm not sure how black out rims would look with the dark paint. My blacked out my white range rover and love the look but I might need to go a different direction with the pickup.

If you post a side-pic of your truck in the photoshop thread, wermbang and others do a great job chopping photos.

Hey take a look at the Dupli-color shadow paint kit. That turns chrome into a black chrome look. You dont have to scuff them or anything you just spray and go. Take a look I have seen it done on TV and they turn out pretty good. I think Dupli-Color has a movie clip on it so you can see
