Edelbrock Shorty Headers Help

Hello,

To begin, I'll tell you what I have:

-2006 5.7 Hemi 4x4 IFS
-k&n cold air
-Diablosport predator 91 octane tune
-Magnaflow dual cat-back exhaust

I am thinking about purchasing some headers in the future but plan on keeping the cats in the process. Unfortunately I don't have the cash at the moment to by a full setup of long tube-dual cats-crossover such as TTI or Dynatech offer so I was wondering how much of a gain I would get from the Edelbrock Shorty Header set?

I know that long tube headers are better in terms of low end torque, but the only setup I could afford would be the Pacesetter LT + offroad y-pipe and I would have to go catless.

Another thing I am planning on doing is installing the magnaflow y-pipe in place of the ugly stock one.

So what kind of performance would I have with the new magnaflow y-pipe and Edelbrock shorties on top of my mods thus far?

Thanks

shorties and a y-pipe...maybe 10rwhp

Yeh you wont see much hp out of shorty's they are made for torque thats why you mainly see them offered for trucks. You should see more torque out of shorty's than longtubes.

Pacesetters coated is he way to go and new y pipe.

Magnaflow makes great aftermarket high flow cats for our trucks.
The best gaskets are stock ones,so order a set from the dealership for the new headers.

BBK makes a great ceramic coated header that fits the 4x4 (even though it says 2wd I know several guys that are running them on their 4x4 hemi's)

does anybody know if those BBK's would fit on an 04' 4x4 Hemi? I'm wondering why BBK explicitly labels them only for the 2wd application..Anybody got them installed on their '04 4x4 Hemi? Or does anybody have the Edelbrock Shorty Headers for their 03-05? http://store.edelbrock.com/shortyhea...es57lhemi.aspx

I put them on my 05 4x4 and they fit like a glove, I got the ceramic ones. Just make sure you get the OEM Mopar exhaust gaskets, do not use the ones that come with the headers, so far so good, they have been on since april of this year. Good luck.

Cool, well as far as the chassis and powertrain goes, 04 and 05 were identical right? so that would stand to reason that these would fit just like an 05?
