Using ext hard drive to transfer music from Itune to truck
I have a new 3500 Dodge truck and am trying to move my Itune library to the hard drive in the truck using an external hard drive. I got the music on the external hard drive, but when I hook it up to the usb port it tells me there are no music files. I know that there is 12 gigs of music there. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Z. I used my external hdd to do the same thing without a problem. The radio pulled up the folders, I picked what folders on the hdd I wanted it downloaded the music.

Are the files in the correct format?

We have a lot of forums for all kinds of topics, so you shouldn't have any problems finding a place to post questions.

We LOVE pics of Rams.

Here's how to post them:

I transfered the files from Itunes to the hdd. Is the Itunes format the correct format?

RootBeer 02-14-2011 12:20 AM

They need to be mp3 format.

Do you know if you can change an Itunes library to a MP3 format.

Try going into your library using the windows browser and see if it lets you play them with the media player.

Or you could even open the media player and go to the library and see if you can play them. You might have to do some converting. Save the new files to your My Muisic or Music folder on your hdd.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it turns out.
