New Ram 1500 code named "Adventurer"
Interesting read:

Right package for entry-level modders or marketing ploy?

CajunDodge 02-19-2011 10:52 AM

Hmmm, that is interesting, so a bit more of an upscale ST or, IMO, what they should have done with the ST to begin with as there are a few features offered there that anyone who has a pickup would want and so should come standard. To me, the Ram has already made a name for itself, already has an entry level model in the lineup that can be modded to fit need or taste, so I don't really see a need to market almost exclusively to "first time buyers." It's having had too many "like" vehicles in the lineup in the first place that contributed to what many referred to as the watering down of Chrysler's vehicles. Just my .02, but interesting info there, I'll be curious to see how it plays out, thanks for the link.

It's been a while since Dodge used the "Adventurer " name. I had a '76 1/2 ton like that... The 440 was awesome!!

i'm gonna go with conplete confusion, why not just call it as it looks, a ram 1500 sport or the SST i guess... i'm still confused on wtf there trying to do with it lol

I'd really love to know what these guys are going to do in 2012, then i read about this new truck and wonder "why".... i'm going with confusion also!

MoparMadness08 02-20-2011 06:58 PM

Ok big deal. its just like a sport. just sayn.

brad12kx 02-20-2011 09:21 PM

It looks too much like the Sport to be considered much else. Sad part, is that could possibly de-value the Sport.....

Good part - I may have just found my next company truck. I really like the sport look, but can't justify the cost for a company truck......Hmmmm. :thk:

Looks like a ST to me. Didn't notice anything different

2011Ram 02-23-2011 04:17 PM

Sport exterior with a probably "cheap" inside. Only Reg Cab too? Might sell a bunch.

GTyankee 02-23-2011 04:32 PM

Looks like any standard cab, just no sliding rear window & less costly rims

just exactly what you see when you go to a fleet dealer, stripped down work trucks
no steering wheel controls, bench seat, 3 speakers, base cheap radio, key ignition, no FOB, no doors on the glove boxes, column shift

here is a bit more

a Tradesman with 20" wheels
'How cool would this thing be with some fat, blacked-out 18-inch rims with street tires and opened-up exhaust?'
