cleaning chrome clad rims

I have heard not to polish the chrome clad rims. Is this correct? I have been using the meguirs chrome polish on mine. Any ideas?

I use a product called Wheel Wax on my chrome clads and the stuff does a great job. I posted a thread about it a while back, http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=50654

zymol wax....

Spray 9 or Mean Green to clean
Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer to shine

I hate how after the winter or longer periods in between cleaning how it turns really bad (crappy rusty looking stuff in the hard to clean/edges etc)

That is hard to get off........

I have been using windex on mine since they are only plastic,I have been afraid to put polish on them.

I've always just used soap and water for cleaning, then if I wax the truck, I use the same stuff on the wheels... never had a problem.
