09 Stereo Install question???

Ok I am a total nOOb and I understand that so go easy!!!

I want to replace my Factory head unit with a DVD player and whatnot.

I don't have steering wheel controls, I wont be using Sirius.

Which wiring harness kit do I need? Do I need the more expensive one to make everything work right?

Thanks for any input!!

Will

I belive you have to get the interface kit for your truck to run after the install

the ecm is routed through the head unit or thats what I was told anyway
good luck with the install

yeah just ask yur electronics dealer to give you the harness to go from the head unit to your truck, there is most likely only one universal kit for all 4th gen trucks

Take a look on this link:

A PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Interface NIB if you have Pioneer and Sony and other radios with wired remote inputs.

I just installed a DD JVC KW-NT3HDT and used the PAC Audio C2R-CHY4 as the harness and it worked great. Everything was plug and play. Only thing I had to connect outside of the harness was the parking brake wire, which I grounded to use the Nav functions while driving. Crutchfield has the same harness listed for your truck, so that should work for you too.
