K&N Cold air intake

Has anyone installed a cold air intake? If you did, did you notice any improvements in power and/or gas mileage?

I was thinking about one of these, but not quite sure what the differences were:

I was looking these this morning along with the airfilter ...

I see a couple other threads on the same topic

Would also love to hear from someone who has installed this on a 2011 RAM 1500, what issues they had with the installation, and if they noticed any MPG and performance improvements.

I don't have a 2011 , but I can honestly say , that when I installed my K&N on my '01 , it was a noticeable difference . I originally did the K&N air filter replacement in the factory airbox , no difference .

Was at the auto parts store (K&N Dealer) today and they could not get this for me because they say it might void the warranty . Guess I will be calling the dealer tomorrow to find out (they are a K&N dealer as well) if it will indeed void the warranty.

Anyone else run into this?

I could order it online, but would hate to void my entire warranty on a new truck with a simple air intake.

Good to know, guess I will also call my dealer.

Were you ever able to confirm whether or not the K&N would void the warranty? I was considering buying one myself.

No, adding a CAI will not void your warranty.

I don't have a CAI yet but found this video last night and thought I would share it with you. A step-by-step install of the K&N. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=en691h4I9uM

I'm still trying to decide with one I want. It needs to be smog legal, California Law:smiledown:
