Florida PV first responders

I see there are alot of guys/gals from the great state of Florida here. As some of you know within the next 6-10 month I will be moving there and transferring from my vol. Co. to Clay county Vol. fire rescue. I want to install more lighting in my Ram seeing that during the day on the way to my station I have to pass through a busy part of town that I often get jammed up in b/c people do not see my one limited light. My question is what color are Florida PV first response vehicle lights. B/c if its the same as NJ I will be upgrading to some sick light packages. If not im not gonna waste the money

I would wait and check with the agency you are going to work for before adding any lights. Some have very specific rules about lighting on personally owned vehicles.

Very true guess I will just save the cash and possible hassle and live w/ the light I have. But I see your from Jupiter, Florida Im guessing just out of curiosity what color are your PV lights

I'm not allowed to have lights on my PV. I am a career FF/PM so I don't need them for that. But I do respond from home to SWAT callouts as I am the Medical team leader for the PD. We have been trying to get unmarked cars assigned to our tactical medics (like most of the departments around us have) but the city does not want to incur the additional expense.

Wow that is some awesome stuff. Thanks for answering my questions I cant wait to move back w/ my family to Florida and start my first responder career there. Where I am moving I will qualify to apply to two different paid departments so I will be doing that and also applying to the local Vol. Co. to bad I have to do all my training over again. I have Fire1 NJ, Foam1, Hazmat,HAZCOM, FAST team and alot of other that dont qualify state to state >:/

Yeah, Florida has some piss poor rules when it comes to reciprocity with other states. It's Florida's way of discouraging other first responders from moving here and looking for a job, stupid IMHO.

What departments are going to apply for?

Jax, Orange park and Clay county
