Cold air intake problems

I installed a cold air intake the other day, now I'm
Getting a hissing noise when I'm driving, around 1900rpm. Has anyone else had this problem? And the air intake sucks an extreme amount of air just wanna know if this is all normal.

If it's a whistle/hiss kind of sound, you probably have a bad seal on the throttle body or one of the couplers.

Yeah that's what I though, I completely removed the intake and then put it all back in made sure that I got all those hose clamps tight and still have the whistle sound

Not sure! My buddy is having the same problem on his 2000 Ram...Call the mfg and ask them for recommendations! Might need new couplers!

I installed mine in Dec. I have the hissing sound when it first starts up (about 30-60 sec) then it's normal. It also has a hissing noise when it downshifts from 3rd to 2nd (about 1 sec, like its taking a breath). But it is not a constant noise.

Yeah I can almost control the noise when the motor hits about 2000rpm it starts hissing, if I feather the pedal u can hear it hiss a little then it hits about 2200rpm then it fades away

And yeah I'll try to call mfg see what they say

I think that is called "Hemi happiness" by being able to finally breathe lol! In all seriousness I think it may just be the extra rush of air that the cai allows verse what your used to hearing at stock. I can literally hear mine "take a breath" at certain speeds when I accelerate, the difference from stock to a real cai is very noticable in sound. But I would still call also and at least get the mfr's advice, after all they did design it.

It's either a leak around the seal of the throttle body or you are just hearing the air through the filter which the factory sealed air box would normally muffle.

Also has anyone noticed a difference in tranny shifting? My truck seems like it don't wanna shift into overdrive when I'm jumping on highway have to let off
Gas to let her shift, didn't have the problem before the cai
