Would you lease?
Would anyone ever lease a truck?

CdnoilRAM 03-01-2011 06:04 PM

I'd never want a truck I couldn't modify

I leased once and hit 45000 miles in 1 1/5 years, had to return the truck or pay for extra for mileage. I Lost ,money. Don't do it.

First 2 owners of my truck leased it for 2 years each.

I want to own something after paying out for 2 - 3 years.

Maybe for strictly business use, never for personal use. The main problem with a lease is taking it back after the lease is up and turning it in. Those guys that do the inspections of these returned vehicles have never had hemmroids because they are all perfect *******s.

No I would not, if for no other reason than the mileage requirement and leasing was something I considered when I got my truck. Sure you have the upside of getting a new vehicle every x number of years, but I'd rather pay on something that is going to be mine in the end.

There are pros and cons of leasing. Some people that have leased have had bad experiences. I have talked to many people that lease and they told me to read every line and negotiate if there is something you want in your lease that isn't included. Of course it does cost extra but if you trade as much as I do and do mods that can be easily changed back then it might be a feasable option. Especially since you can lease alot cheaper than owning sometimes. I have been seriously considering this lately and have talked to my salesman quite a bit about. Right now the biggest problem is the mileage and my job. I will probably end up buying mainly because it seems like I am throwing my money away, but the lease is very temping.

Only if
1. it's a work vehicle which you can write off or
2. you can keep the mileage within the limits which is very difficult.

I'm presently leasing my Kia Soul to use as a DD but have blown the hell out of the mileage. No biggie since I'm just going to write a check for it any.
