Collectors !

Hello everyone ! Just curious to see how many members out there collect anything or maybe everything ? Maybe you would like to share some pics of your prized collection ? As a collector myself I not only do it for the purpose of just having it, but my collection is actually a great investment and something I can hang on to and pass down. Plus, I love Art, and IMO Old School Skateboard Art is some of my favorite and a lot of the artists that did the graphics back then are widely recognized these days and moved into hand paintings that are highly sought after. So lets see what great things you have ! I have more, I'll try to post pics of them tomorrow.

Wow...talk about bringing back memories. I had the Hawk and Cab that are side by side. I also had an Alva, Neil Blender, Jeff Kendall, Airtech and probably a few others I forgot about. My favorite was the Blender. It had black Gullwings, Swiss bearings and OJ II wheels. I also had a 4 foot tall 12 foot wide mini half pipe and a 2 foot launch ramp. I'm kinda surprised there's no Hosoi hammerhead or a Gator in there somewhere! Thanks for posting those up!

Does collecting mods count?

Mel collects snowglobes, she's around 120 right now!. I paint and collect Warhammer figures (i do NOT play with them). I don't have access to any pics of my full collection, but I've got 2 glass display cases for it all. Here are a few that were kicking around photobucket.

Thanks RamTech ! I do have a Jeff Kendall Board, but no Hosoi or Vision Boards. I'll get some more pics up soon. Kurtis, that is some nice, detailed paint work you do ! And Snow Globes are cool ! My mom use to have quite a few of them but several got broke over the years.:4-dontknow:

thats ALOT of boards! lol

Nice paint job CD, i love doing model cars but cant do detail like that...inharited a great little trait from my grandmother called trembles....makes it very hard to paint in detail!

Ya, that's about half of them anyways ! I got more on display and boxed up.

Man boards have changed so much.

sk8noregon 03-02-2011 11:09 PM

They sure have ! It was about Art, making statements and reflecting the riders personality back then. They used to silk-screen all boards back then which just added to the artistry, nowadays it's 99% Computer designed and printed heat-transfers.

Looking forward to seeing pics of the other decks you have in your collection. I'd love to see some more old school stuff like a Lance Mountain, Schmitt Stix Yard Stix, Tommy Guererro, Natas Kaupas, or anything from the Bones Brigade (anyone remember The Search For Animal Chin?)

sk8noregon 03-03-2011 03:23 PM

Haha ! That's a great video ! I do have a Lance Mountain Board, a Lucero Schmitt Stix, and a Natas deck but with World Industries. It was about the most controversial deck ever put out and Super Rare ! Unfortunately I haven't got my hands on the right Guerrero deck yet but I will.
