How many coils to cut to get 2"-2.5" drop?????

looking to drop my 98 2wd by cutting the springs ...does anyone know how many coils to cut? is there a system like say..cut 1 coil=1.5 drop..., cut 1.5coil=2.25 drop??

also, is taking out leaf springs a tried and tested practice?...any info on how many leafs will equal a 4" drop.....i will be getting new shocks.

if anything ill just get a shackle/hanger kit and just cut the springs.

truth be told, the better question is how many coil springs to buy to get the drop. i wouldnt recommend cutting the coils. your ride will be so soft youll bounce like a rubber ball down the road. same with the rear springs. from experience, taking out rear springs makes your rear end bouncy too, and you wont be able to haul a bicycle in the bed without it sagging.
