With our recent 12" snowfall I managed to work my 2000 Ram 2500 4x4 pretty good and noticed a rubber hose about the size of fuel line hose (3/8) dangling off my rear differential. One end appears to attach to my solid brake line a few inches away from my driver's side rear wheel and the other end (where it appears to have broken) has a plastic/nylon fitting in it BUT I can't find out where it broke off from. And I don't see it in any diagrams. So, what is it?
It's probably just the vent hose for the diff from your rear diff and it came loose from the clips.
Thanks RamTech. The clip on the loose end is still attached to the hose (ie ripped it off its attachment point). I wondered if it was some type of vent or breather but couldn't find anything in my manual showing one. Time for another trip under the rig:doh:
