fuel foam

Whenever I refuel my 2004 Ram 2500, it foams up and shuts off the pump nozzle prematurely. I can usually get about 2 more gallons in the tank after it 1st shuts off. Do others have this same issue? Is there anything to be done?

regards,
Leon

Is the gauge reading full when it kicks off the first time?

That is the nature of diesel. It has a low surface tension which causes the foaming. Nothing can be done other than to try and trickle fill it if the pump will allow. My Duramax held another 2-3 gallons as well after shut off.

Diesel foams... nothing you can do to stop it. I can generally get another 5-10 litres if I let it settle in my SuperDuty.
