Big drop for little trailer

I have a very small HF trailer that I use for my lawnmower, firewood, etc etc etc. It sits very low, so I haven't been able to use it at all with my truck. I used to use it with the laredo, but that only required a 6" drop. If I want the thing to be semi level then I need to use a > 10" drop, and I'm not finding anything.

My truck isn't raised or anything, is there anybody else out there with this problem? To ad insult to injury I'm about to order new tires for the truck which are slightly larger, probably only adding a teensy bit to the overall height, but certainly not putting me in a better position with only a 10" drop.

any advice on this?

A lot of off road accessory stores, local stores that do lifts, have class III hitch bars dropped > 10 inches. Look for the ones online as well.

I'd advise installing the new rubber and then measuring the amount of drop you need.

That's what I keep reading, but I've yet to find one. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Definitely will measure with the new tires on it. I'm going from 265/75-16s to 285/75-16s

Maybe I'll just order the reese 11" drop and see how close that get's me. I need to remeasure after the new tires, though, and an adjustable height hitch would be nicer, since I do tow my dad's larger trailers sometimes (he has a bunch of hitches, too, so it's no biggie)

I believe my drop hitch for pulling my camper is 11". I also use a 10 inch regular drop for a boat trailer when I tow it for the inlaws

A guy on another forum gave me this link:

The difference in price from the 11" and anything greater sure is significant. I hope I can make it work with 11. I think it will be close enough...

The adjustable ones are expensive but worth it if you tow a lot of different trailers.

My camper one was $160 just for the bar it self. I used the hitch/ball from the old one.
