winter tire swap

1 Attachment(s)
hey guys, i just swapped out my winter tires to my summers. I just swapped a guy near me my factory 17" for his larime 20". Does anyone know how long it takes for the sensors to kick back in & read the tire pressure? my winter tires didnt have the tire sensors.

Also my speedo is off by 4-5 km per hr Can the dealer fix that without a cost?

Not positive, but I think you will need to get by the dealer to have the sensors matched to your truck. As for the speedo error, they can set that too, or you can get a Preditor and adjust it yourself.

i wish i had the money for a preditor, but i just spent alot of money on all the other mods.

Do you guys know if the dealer would charge for this?

The dealer will charge for this. I am also wondering if the sensors in the wheels you traded for run on the same frequency as your stock ones do. If not, those sensors are not worth much to you. And I would ask, do the 20's have sensors in them?

i didnt think that the sensors would have a different frequency.

Yes, sometimes the freqs vary by year. I know that the 2005 - 2007 LX cars (Charger, Magnum, 300) had a different freq than the 2008's and up.

Just something to consider!

Normally, right after a swap, the TPMS system either starts chiming at your, then stops as it learns the sensors are back where they belong or it will light up the Low Pressure light because it can't read them (happens when freq is different or no sensors were installed).

weird because i've got nothing! it did it when my oem tires were removed & my winters were installed. since putting the 20" on 3 days now nothing has been displayed. If they dont work it's not that bad. atleast it doesn't beep & a light flash all the time.

thx
